One acoustic center

True coaxial point-source design maintains a single acoustic center regardless of listening position. Midrange and tweeter radiate from the same physical point. In immersive audio, every channel sounds like it came from the same monitor. In stereo, the image is coherent across the whole listening area.

02
±1.5
No compromises for size

Professional monitoring doesn't require large cabinets. It requires cabinets engineered to disappear acoustically, regardless of physical dimensions. ±1.5dB linearity with ±15° phase coherence, the same measurement-driven calibration architecture as Terra, engineered into a 6.5 inch cube.

Every position, same answer

90° × 90° coverage pattern that holds whether Selene is a height channel, a surround position, a nearfield alt, or a compact stereo pair. The same phase coherence and accuracy in every application, at every listening position.

Scalable to your system

Selene is complete for immersive applications. When you need full-range stereo decision-making, Poseidon integrates via EXCore and extends response to 45Hz linear. No extra amplifiers, no additional processing, no additional configuration.

Technical Foundation

Same engineering philosophy as Terra. Different form factor. Same standards.

Aluminum extrusion cabinets, coaxial point-source drivers, living calibration. The approach doesn’t change with size. What changes is the architecture: Selene uses external amplification and DSP via the EXCore module rather than integrated rear-panel electronics, allowing modular system configurations and expansion to Poseidon. This generation introduces living calibration, individual driver level corrections that improve over time as our measurement capabilities and algorithms advance. Your Selene gets better as our research advances. Each Selene system is measured and calibrated. The coaxial is linearized to achieve ±1.5dB frequency response and ±15° phase deviation across the operating range.
Cabinet Engineering

Acoustically inert. Despite its size.

Selene uses the same aluminum extrusion approach as Terra, scaled for its compact form factor. Each cabinet is a 7mm flat-wall extrusion with 19mm corner ribbing and integral cross-bracing. Front and rear baffles are 12mm solid aluminum, compressed onto the main shell with series gaskets creating a sandwich assembly clamped together for maximum rigidity. The entire assembly extrudes front to back, allowing compression with substantial force. The result is a cabinet that’s acoustically inert despite its compact size. No resonances, no flexing, nothing that colors what you’re hearing. Professional monitoring doesn’t require large cabinets. It requires cabinets engineered to disappear acoustically, regardless of physical dimensions.
Driver Technology

A 16cm coaxial engineered specifically for Selene.

Selene uses a 16cm variant of our third-generation coaxial architecture . It shares the same motor structure as Terra’s 18cm coaxial, purpose-designed for Selene’s application with slightly longer throw and a diaphragm optimized for standalone surround monitoring. Custom TPCD diaphragms, FEA-optimized motor structure, automated fiber placement pushing tweeter breakup above 40kHz. The architectural challenge was a passive crossover inside the coaxial to split midrange and tweeter at 3kHz. We over-engineered it: custom 14AWG square-wire inductors with exact impedance matching, end-to-end DCR under 0.3 ohms, identical filter bank values on both sides counter-wound for roughly 100dB of magnetic field cancellation. Four 3% tolerance Panasonic polypropylene caps per filter bank in parallel for exceptionally low ESL/ESR. Phase inverted tweeter achieves perfect phase tracking at the LR2 crossover point. The passive crossover is so consistent that the DSP treats the coaxial as a full-range driver. Each coaxial is measured individually and linearized at the driver level before crossover application.
Electronics & DSP

The EXCore module. Amplification and DSP in a half-rack enclosure.

Selene’s amplification and DSP live in the EXCore module , a compact 2RU half-rack enclosure housing Hypex NcoreX amplification (NCx252MP and NCx-102EXT modules), Danville Signal Peregrine DSP architecture with ADSP-21569 SHARC+ processor and ESP32 co-processor, and AKM conversion (AK4493SEQ DAC, AK5572EN ADC). The modular architecture allows flexible system configurations. The EXCore included with Selene powers the coaxial monitors and has capacity for future expansion, specifically adding Poseidon subwoofers without requiring additional amplification or DSP. The 80Hz integral HPF for surround integration is handled in the EXCore DSP. The ESP32 co-processor enables over-the-air firmware and calibration updates . WiFi control features match Terra: multi-system sync for ATMOS configurations, channel mute, delay compensation, input sensitivity, boundary control, and low latency mode all controlled by the Houston software application.
