My monitors won't turn on. What should I check first?

Confirm the power cable is fully seated at both ends and the outlet is live. Check that the power switch on the rear panel is in the ON position. If the unit powers on, and light on the rear comes on but the unit does not pass signal, power the monitor off for five minutes and try again. If it still does not turn on and pass signal or the light on the rear does not come on at all, submit a support ticket.

I hear a hum when nothing is playing. Where does it come from?

Ground loop hum is the most common cause. Plug both monitors and your audio interface into the same power strip. Confirm all signal cables are balanced XLR. If you are running unbalanced connections, that is almost certainly the source. A Radial Ice Cube Twin-Iso or other balanced isolator resolves it in most cases.

Houston software is not detecting my monitor.

In most cases it means either the speaker is still in start-up mode and not on your WiFi network or you are on a different WiFi network than your speaker. Refer to the startup sequence to ensure the speaker is configured and on the right network. If the problem persists. Power the monitor on before launching the Houston application. If the issue persists after a restart, submit a ticket with your serial number and operating system version.

One monitor is noticeably louder than the other.

Check that the input sensitivity controls (or Sub Trim if the issue is with your subwoofer) controls in the Houston for both units and confirm they are set identically. Verify both signal cables are balanced and of equal quality. If the imbalance persists, submit a support ticket with your serial numbers and a description of the difference in level.

Do I need to register my product?

Registration is strongly recommended. It links your serial number to your contact record and activates your warranty coverage. It also ensures you receive firmware and calibration updates as they are released.
