The imaging and frequency extension are both excellent. The phantom center they give is so solid and the nice tight sealed cabinet low end goes deeper than one would expect in my room. I had subs when I got them and turned them off. They’re a pleasure to listen to and translation outside my room is in the money.
About
Dan Shike
Dan Shike has spent more than two decades behind the mastering chain at Tone and Volume Mastering, the Nashville studio he built after studying in the Recording Industry program at Middle Tennessee State University and assisting mixer F. Reid Shippen for several years. His mastering touch has closed out records as different as Neil Young and Crazy Horse's World Record and Semisonic's long-awaited reunion album Little Bit of Sun, and it has helped bring home Grammy wins for Ruthie Foster's Mileage and Tye Tribbett's All Things New: Live in Orlando. He has also mastered Grammy-nominated and winning gospel projects for Tasha Cobbs Leonard and the Fisk Jubilee Singers, moving comfortably between rock, blues, and gospel without losing the character of any of them. True to the way he runs Tone and Volume, Shike works alone, handling every track himself rather than farming work out to assistants, a habit that has kept clients coming back across genres and decades.
