"Having the Quasars’ full-range response lets me confidently shape low end that’ll be blasting through massive sub systems , all from my Brooklyn studio. Before, some of our engineers tried doing this on headphones or smaller studio monitors, but it wouldn't translate right on big sound systems at venues. With the Quasars it does."
About
Daniel Stringer
Dan Stringer got his start the old-fashioned way, interning at Electric Lady Studios in New York after earning his degree in music and studio production from SUNY Purchase, back when artists still lived in the booth until a song was finished. That grounding led him into a decade of work alongside Lauryn Hill and into the room for X Ambassadors' major-label debut EP, which he co-produced with Alex Da Kid and Dan Reynolds. These days he runs his own producer/artist project, Stringer, out of Blackwood Drive, the Brooklyn studio he co-owns, where he says his job is less about imposing his own taste and more about being a mouthpiece for the artist in front of him. That philosophy carried into his recent work with country artist Mitchell Ferguson on 'Like They Used To,' a track that folds roots, pop country and hip-hop textures together, with a low end dialed in carefully enough on his monitors that it still translates when a listener switches over to airpods or a laptop speaker.
