Pulsar
I've worked on several high end studio monitors, but I never felt more comfortable than when I switched to the Ex Machina Pulsars. They present audio the way I like to hear things. The coaxial design is great - you have speakers shooting information from less directions and it feels more familiar to a traditional 2-way monitor in terms of how you hear things. It's like the speakers themselves disappear in the room and the stereo image is superb, not to mention the sweet spot is quite wide. They're just fantastic tools!

Giancarlo Altieri built his mixing practice in Brooklyn after studying mixing at Berklee College of Music, and today he brings over a decade of experience to clients working in indie dance, nu-disco, and beyond. One of the highlights of his catalog came when a remix he crafted for the artist Gavin Turek found its way onto HBO's High Maintenance. He says remix work is the most common request he gets from clients, though he also mixes full records for a range of artists across genres. Clients describe him as prompt, accommodating, and easy to communicate with, someone who takes detailed notes and keeps revising a mix until it matches the artist's vision. His treated Brooklyn room, where he tracks through analog gear before finishing in the box on a pair of Ex Machina Pulsars, reflects the same hands on approach he brings to every session.
