Pulsar MKII
“I’ve had the Pulsar MKII for just over a year and they have revolutionized the way I listen to and work on music. Whether I’m producing for a client in the room, tracking drums or mixing a record, I don’t have to second guess what I’m hearing. This means a more direct connection to the music and less time wasted on having to reference with alternative listening devices. Without a doubt one of the best investments I’ve made for my studio.”
Julien Baraness
Julien Baraness runs Mattison Studio, the recording space he opened on London's Harringay Ladder in 2017 after training as a guitarist and audio engineer at Berklee College of Music. Before settling into studio life he cut his teeth in London's live circuit, working in-house at venues like the Finsbury in Manor House and the Victoria in Dalston, experience that still shapes how quickly he can move from tracking to a finished mix. Since then his engineering and mixing work has touched projects tied to the BBC, Nonclassical, Sky TV, Arsenal FC and Chelsea FC, alongside independent artists such as R&B singer Hari, whose singles Good Things and More Than A Woman he mixed, and Solar ParAchute, the solo project of drummer Gaet Allard, on the track Brother Mirror. He also mixed TVOYA's debut EP AKASHA, a release built around Bulgarian vocals, viola and analogue synths. Collaborators describe him as attentive to detail without losing sight of turnaround, a balance that has kept Mattison Studio busy across genres for close to a decade.
